Cinechitta World - Italy's first cinema park for children and adults

If you find yourself in Rome with children and don’t know how to entertain your children who are tired of going to museums and galleries, feel free to go to the amusement park Cinecittà World, the first cinema park in Italy. Despite the fact that Chinechitta, primarily a children's amusement park, adults will not be bored here either. Immerse yourself in the real world of cinema, see New York at the beginning of the last century, take part in skirmishes with cowboys, star in extras or indulge in dreams in the fantasy world - all this will be possible for guests of the Mir Chinechitta park. You will find fantastic scenery, exciting rides, stylized cafes and shops, as well as plenty of entertainment for every taste.

Cinema Park "World of Chinechitta"

Park Mir Chinechitta appeared not far from Rome not so long ago, in the summer of 2014. It is entirely dedicated to cinema and is open in the buildings of the former Roman film studio. The motto of the park: “Entertainment worthy of an Oscar” was not chosen by chance, because three-time Oscar winner Dante Ferreti and an amazing composer, author of numerous soundtracks to famous films by Ennio Morricone worked on its creation.

The territory of the park is huge and occupies about 150 hectares. Here, 20 exciting attractions, 8 film sets, 3 laboratories, 4 theme restaurants and 4 theaters are comfortably located.

The whole park is divided into thematic zones dedicated to various films.

1. "Cabiria"

The first film to be seen by visitors to the Chinechitta Park is the silent Italian film Cabiria, shot by Giovanni Pastrone back in 1914. The giant god Moloch greets those who enter with his open arms. Step into its open mouth to enter the world of adventure and fantasy, which is waiting for you on the opposite side.

2. "Main street of Chinechitta"

The main street of the movie park of Chinechitt takes you to a completely different world. The spirit of New York of 1920s reigns here, filled with music and dancing. This is the era of jazz, gangsters and total prohibitions. On the avenue you can visit the Barber, where guests will become part of the film, the park's main store and a couple of theme restaurants.

3. "World of Fantasy"

To the right of the main street, the youngest guests of the park are waiting for a world of fantasies and dreams. Here, in a children's amusement park, boys and girls will visit a real fantasy factory, be able to create and pack their own dreams, as well as enjoy fun rides with their dads and mothers.

4. "Space Express"

On the Space Express ride, children and adults are waiting for a great space trip. The attraction is completely new and appeared in the park only in 2016.

5. "Aquila IV"

The Aquila IV complex will plunge into the world of military battles on land, in water and air, and also tell the real story of an undefeated submarine of the same name.

6. "Erawan"

A dash of adrenaline will be experienced by the daredevils at the most spectacular attraction in the amusement park of Chinechitta - "Erawan". This complex brings to the atmosphere of adventure films of the 50s. The main figure is the temple of Erawan (Indian elephant god) with a giant 54-meter tower. After climbing to the top, you will find a few seconds of an unrealistic sensation of falling into the abyss.

7. "Actium"

To the left of the main street you can swim in a lot of splashes on the Aktium attraction. Guests will remember the battles of legionnaires in Ancient Rome and get into the city of Mark Ottavia Ambracia. Actium is a peculiar tribute to the films in the peplum genre.

8. Altair

Altair is an intergalactic ship that has landed on our planet. The complex is dedicated to science fiction films about communication between people and aliens and is an exciting roller coaster. Along the route, daredevils are waiting for 10 extreme turns around its axis, the height of a 12-story building and unrealistic speed.

9. "Ennio Bay"

In the farthest part of the park called Ennio Bay, you can get into the world of Westerns, fight duels with gangsters and sheriffs, enjoy a real cancan, visit a mine, a saloon restaurant, a church and a games room.

10. Piazza Dino De Laurentis

The central part of the cinema park is occupied by the square of Dino De Laurentis - the founder of the movie studio Chinechitt. There are 4 thematic theaters.

The first - "Riddle" sings the mysterious magic of cinema, immerses in a world of illusions that deceive thinking and sensory organs.

The second - "Dark Horse" carries into the atmosphere of black and white thriller. On a spectacular slide, guests are expected to travel along the banks of the Styx River to the last circle of hell.

The third is Enchanted Projector. This theater, decorated in the form of a giant film projector, has a multi-level children's playground for young guests of the Cinechitt movie theater aged 3-12.

Fourth - "Motor!" acquaints the audience with the backstage of filming, ranging from casting for the main roles and ending with the end credits.

In addition to the attractions in Mir Chinechitta Park, you can visit several stylized cafes and souvenir shops. Also on the territory of the complex are safes for storing valuables, dryers, an ATM, a currency exchange, a medical center, a stroller rental, outdoor recreation areas and a hotel.

Near the park is the Castel Romano outlet, famous in Rome, where you can safely go shopping with your whole family after dizzying adventures.

How to get to the park

The Cinecitta Mir Cinema Park is located at Via Castel Romano, 200.

You can get here by car or by bus. Buses to the movie park leave from Rome Termini Station (Via Marsala) at 9:15 am during the park's opening days. Departure from the park at 18:15. Ticket price is 12 euros.

Tickets and park hours

The park is open from April to November. In April, May, September and October, he works mainly on weekends from 10:00 to 18:00. In June, July, the first half of August and the first half of September, the park is open from 11:00 to 19:00. From August 12 to 26 - from 11:00 to 23:00. A detailed work schedule can be found here.
