Candy is an Italian company engaged in the production and sale of various household appliances, part of an international group of companies called "Candy Group". Currently, the brand occupies one of the key positions in the international market, actively engaged in the development of new innovative technologies and their implementation in modern life. All Candy equipment is not only a high level of performance, but also a unique stylish design.

Candy Story

It's hard to believe, but the multinational group of companies "Candy Group" has grown from the most ordinary small workshop for the repair of mechanical devices. Its owner, Eden Fumagalli, came up with a crazy idea to create a device that would be able to wash and rinse things on its own, thereby simplifying a person’s life and removing a number of everyday duties from him.

The idea of a man was successfully embodied by him and his three sons, in early 1945, and in the “field” conditions, the Fumagalli family assembled the first-ever original Italian-made washing machine from the means at hand, which received the simple but sonorous name “Model 50” ( "Model 50").

A year later, in 1946, Eden ventured to showcase his creations to the public, believing that the Milan Fair was the most suitable event for this.

After the overwhelming success of the presented car at the last fair, Eden Fumagalli decides to create his own company, which he registers as "Candy" in honor of the song of the same name by Nat King Cole, which was especially popular at that time. After the brand began, he patented his next innovative invention - a dishwasher.

Having a legal patent in his hands, Fumagalli decides to mass produce washing machines. Soon, the Model 45, an improved version of the Model 50, arrives at local stores and malls. It was equipped with a tank that holds up to 3 kilograms of things, the function of heating water, as well as a special pump, which provided the erasing process.

In the period of 60-70 years, the company begins to actively conquer foreign countries. So, in 1955 the first foreign office of the brand was opened in France, and then, in 1958, Candy also captured Germany.

Since 1957, the first semi-automatic washing machines have been invented at Candy factories and plants, which have two new modes - spin and rinse. And after only a few months, the first automatic machine in history is produced, completely replacing hand washing.

Also, it was in the 60s that the company had its official headquarters in the town of Brugherio on Via Comolli 16, (Via Comolli, 16). The head office is now located at this address, only about 32 thousand people live in the city.

Candy conquers the world

The period of the 70-80s was marked for the company as a time of conquering new heights and mastering unprecedented horizons. It was during these years that Candy's policy acquired a very aggressive color, the active absorption and destruction of any competitors began:

  • In the 70th year of the last century, Candy buys the famous Italian stove stove factory La Sovrana Itali;
  • in 1971 takes over the Kelvinator,
  • In 1985 becomes the owner of Zerowatt - a large plant for the production of small and large household appliances.

However, waging an active struggle with its competitors, the brand management did not forget about the development of new technologies and innovations. Already in 1978, a unique ZOOM system was created within the company, which can significantly save electricity, which is consumed by household appliances.

Also, Candy - the first company to launch refrigerators with the No Frost system.

In the 80s, the first ever Candy Cuocirapido microwave oven entered the market. This gives the necessary impetus to create a new technology called "Combichef", which subsequently allows you to create a unique stove that would combine both traditional and microwave cooking methods. Following this, the brand’s developers demonstrate to the public another model of the washing machine, which in its appearance and functions is already beginning to resemble modern ones.

Also in the list of achievements of the company you can make another invention - a Futura dishwasher. This dishwasher is considered the first in world history, which allowed you to wash up to 15 standard sets of dishes, while using up only ten liters of water.

Candy today

Candy today is a group of large companies that belong to the Fumagalli family and are leaders in the manufacturing of household appliances.

The current policy of the Candy Group is not too different from that which the company adhered to at the end of the twentieth century. She continues to develop new markets, attracting an increasing number of customers from around the world. Also, the brand’s main goal continues to be finding a new way to make life easier for modern people.Candy regularly presents to the public more and more new inventions that literally turn over time-honored judgments about what household appliances should be.

It is noteworthy that the leadership of the brand does not forget about such a sacred duty as protecting and protecting flora and fauna. Candy Group uses only materials that are recyclable in the manufacture of its products. The company also actively promoted the draft international law of the EU regarding the disposal of discarded electronic and electrical devices.
